Can A Missing Mineral Make Us All More Sane?
Scientific Studies of Lithium Supplements In a 1997 study, researchers at the National Institute of Mental Health stated: “We found that long-term exposure to lithium chloride dramatically protects cultured rat cerebellar, cerebral cortical, and hippocampal neurons against glutamate-induced excitotoxicity… This neuroprotection is long-lasting, occurs at therapeutically relevant concentrations of lithium.” (1)
Simply stated: “Taking long term supliments of Lithium protects your brain cells from all kinds of damage.” This has startling implications for the treatment of many diseases like Alzheimers and other mental disorders. But, it also has a huge potential impact on longevity and mental functioning.
Longevity Benefits Dr Gregory J Moore G.L. in Lithium-induced increase in human grey matter. (Lancet 2000) states, “Rodent studies have shown that lithium exerts neurotrophic or neuroprotective effects … Grey-matter volume increased after 4 weeks of treatment. The increases in grey matter probably occurred because of neurotrophic effects.” This is an indication that a brain with damaged cells can regrow them and even increase in size. This is stated in another article below.
In “How To Enlarge Your Brain”, Dr. James Howenstine, MD. writes: “Medical students are taught that there is a slow steady loss of brain cells with aging culminating in gradual shrinkage of the brain. Lithium has long been known to be an effective therapy for Bipolar Disorder (manic depression) when taken in high doses. However, recent research has shown that low doses of lithium preserve and renew brain cells. Eight of ten persons given lithium showed an increase in brain grey matter of 3 % after only 4 weeks.
By promoting brain cell regeneration and increasing brain size lithium can function as an anti-aging nutrient for the brain.” Many other Benefits Dr Howenstine also cites research stating, “Ten years of research by 27 counties in Texas disclosed that the incidence of homicide, rape, robbery, burglary, arrests for drug possession, and suicide were higher in counties whose drinking water contained little or no lithium. Counties whose drinking water naturally contained higher amounts of lithium had significantly lower rates of all these crimes. These counties with higher levels of lithium in their tap water experienced fewer hospitalizations for homicides, mental illness, psychosis, neurosis, schizophrenia, and personality disorder.
Low dosage lithium benefits alcoholism and mood disorders seen in heavy users of alcohol and their relatives. This therapy is often obvious to family members when depression, premenstrual tension, temper flareups and irritability cease affecting the individual. Lithium has been helpful in reducing aggressive behavior in children. High dosages of lithium helped two adult women with severe anorexia nervosa regain 26 and 20 pounds in six weeks. Both women experienced improvement in behavioral problems.”
Should Lithium be added to drinking water? Dr Howenstine thinks so, “The answer is yes, particularly for parts of the country where lithium water levels are low. Placing lithium in the water supply would almost certainly lower crime rates and would also improve the productivity of many emotionally troubled persons.”
In conclusion, there are many things we can do to increase our health and longevity. Most of them are much more difficult than others. Taking a lithium supplement is not only simple, it is very low cost, about $2 a month. I don’t see why everyone wouldn’t want to contribute to making the world a better place by gaining a little mental health edge.

How to Get Past the Boredom of Exercise
Living in Florida, I knew I had to start my 2 mile walk just as the sun was coming up. If I waited a moment later, the heat would steal my energy. I had tried taking late evening walks but by then, it was really hard because I was settled in with watching television or submerged in my crossword puzzle. Yes, I know what you are probably thinking, “she is just plain lazy, why doesn’t she just do it?”
The truth is, I am often lazy, but I was also bored. Maybe if I felt I didn’t HAVE to walk or HAVE to go to the gym or whatever else was on my have-to list, I wouldn’t dread or put off doing it. Every day I would talk myself into doing it; then I would slack off. Then one day I would say to myself, “you have to do this” and I was on again. It was a never- ending cycle of “will” verses boredom.
One day my husband, Jim mentioned that our back yard would be so much more attractive without those bushes in front on the fence. (I don’t know what kind of plant it was but the previous owner obviously thought that the plants were pretty.) When Jim mentioned this, I felt guilty. When our four daughters were growing up, I was busy sewing, cooking, taking them to activities and keeping up the house along with a part time job. So I never had time to acquire an interest in the outdoors. Now, being a free- lance writer and my own boss, I knew there was no excuse for my not helping in the yard.
I donned by old clothes, put my gloves on and ventured into a new world. At first, I started just cutting down the huge bushes. After a couple of sessions, that was done and now for the real thing. (I don’t think Jim thought I would even last one day and neither did I,) I got the hoe and shovel and had to dig about 8 inches for these gigantic roots. They are huge and funny-shaped. They look like bones of a giant. I wondered what the neighbor’s thought, since they look like huge bones and I am always digging in the back yard?
The first yard session, I could only last about 30 minutes. The Florida heat combined with the fact that I wasn’t drinking much water just about did me in. I sat on the back porch, wiping my brow and realized this was going to be a definite challenge. Drenched with perspiration and dirty, as I made my way to the shower, I vowed to try again the next day.
Yep. You’re right. The next day I was really sore. Those muscles I used for digging and pulling were sore. I made my way outside, anyway. Those roots were not going to get the best of me. This time I dug and pulled for about 45 minutes. I was so tired; I had to leave the roots that I had already dug up on the ground for the time being. They were huge and very heavy but there was a slight twinge of satisfaction that some of the roots were up.
I began to notice my energy level was increasing. After working in the yard, I would shower, drink my water and be ready for housework, errands or better yet, my writing.
Jim told me to drink my water BEFORE I went out to work in the yard. That little piece of information helped me tremendously.
Today I am about 75% finished with my root job. Every session I have with “pulling up the roots” becomes more enjoyable. Strangely, I can’t wait to get out there each day for my challenge with the roots. It is kind of like finding Easter Eggs. I want to find one more huge root and pull it up. Consequently, every session I last longer. I have added weeding and pruning to my outdoor activities.
There is something about pulling up those stubborn, heavy roots with my hoe that makes me excited. I know that sounds silly, but it is true. Something about pulling those weeds from the ground puts me in tune with the universe. I have always snickered when I heard others say this about gardening, but I find it is true for me. Pruning and clipping – I just love….I almost go overboard. Jim will tell me that I don’t have to cut everything so short! And picking up the magnolia leaves each day on our patio brings pure joy.
Now, if I want to take our dog, Sunny Bear for a walk in the evening, it is pure joy. It is something I don’t HAVE to do. I already have done my exercise. And yes, I still do my weights, but I feel that all the pulling that comes with digging and hoeing does the job.
I taught aerobics and pool classes for three years. I did about 10-12 classes per week, but I can assure you, I feel that gardening is just as beneficial. I know you are supposed to do some kind of aerobic exercise at least twice a week, but I can tell that my heart is getting a work out and I am getting more muscle mass.
One day, I was surfing the net for links for my site, and I came across this article, which convinced me that I was right about gardening being beneficial for body and soul.
I found a calorie burner calculator kraftfoods.com/kf/HealthyLiving/. Put your weight in, the amount of time, and kind of exercise and it will show how many calories you have used. According to this calculator, when I do my hardest yard work for 120 minutes, I use 726 calories! Yeah!
Read more good news about this on an article by Jeff Restuccio called, National Gardening Exercise Day, which was June 6th. ritecode.com/aerobicgardening/exerday.html. It not only reinforces the fact that gardening can be an aerobic exercise, but has tips on stretching, cool downs and techniques on posture while gardening to produce the best results. I am so excited! Mr. Restuccio has also written a book, Fitness, the Dynamic Gardening Way. I can’t wait to read it.
Did I also mention that gardening is good for the mind and soul? I feel so much better. I found some back up for this emotional, feel-good phenomenon, as well. Did you know that gardening lowers blood pressure, reduces stress and muscle tension. In fact, according to this article, just looking at a picture of a garden reduces stresses, heartache and losses in our life. This article, Grow Better, Feel Better, Garden Longer is by Karen York. She is the author of Holistic Garden: Creating Spaces for Health and Healing. Draw your own conclusions when you read: gardenforever.com/pages/artYork.htm.
I realize I need to go out and pull up some more roots. My roots are calling me………Fran Larson goodcharacterpress.com/ goodcharacterpress.com/ and writing-write.info
Hair Loss
Baldness or hair loss is a common problem many people face. It not only affects adults, but teens as well. People experiencing hair loss have a tendency to worry a lot. After all, in our society, appearance is everything. But hair loss is normal, actually, it’s a natural part of our body’s renewal process. We lose about 50-100 pieces of hair a day. This amount of hair loss is normal. These hairs are replaced and grow back in the same follicle on your head; therefore, there is nothing to worry about.
But what if you are losing more than that? Well, if you have unusual hair loss and don’t have any idea what is causing it, it is recommended that you see your dermatologist. Your dermatologist can tell why your hair if falling out. If needed, your dermatologist can suggest a treatment or product to help you correct your underlying problem.
So, what really are the causes of hair loss? Diseases, stress, use of medicines, hormone imbalance, family history, improper care of hair, and even different hairstyles that we use are the major factors that lead to the problem of hair loss. Radiation, chemotherapy, thyroid disease, and local skin diseases are also included.
Treatments for hair loss are available, depending on the type of your hair loss. If the reason for your hair loss is a medicine, you will be suggested to use a different medicine. If it’s caused by hormone imbalance, correcting it may prevent more hair loss. However, if adequate treatment is not available for your type of hair loss, try some of the many options for disguising hair loss: wigs, hair wraps, or hats. Compared to hair transplants, these alternatives give better cosmetic results at lower costs and with less trouble.
So if you’re not suffering from hair loss and don’t want to experience it in the future, start pampering your hair now. Try to eat a balanced diet because a healthy diet really benefits your hair. If possible, shampoo your hair no more than once a day. If you rub your hair too vigorously with a towel, try to avoid it now. Lastly, be careful when using chemicals on your hair like hair straighteners or hair colors as too much chemicals can really cause hair loss.

6 Simple Tips To Effectively Build Muscle Fast In 30 Minutes
Sick of devouring every single piece of muscle-building material with different
muscle-building techniques and methods, all claiming to have the ’solution’ to Build Muscle fast?
Here are 6 basic guides to build muscle fast without wasting countless hours at the gym!
1) Build Muscle with Short Intervals And At High Intensity
Scientific test has shown that blood sugar level decreases after 20 minutes. Therefore, look at compound multi-joint movements, as it requires more use of muscle from every muscle group, and hence offers more muscle stimulus.
Examples of multi-joint movements are squats, dips, bench press and chin-ups. These exercises will target all the main muscle groups.
Performing these 4 exercises during a session with high intensity will have growth effect and build muscle fast.
In contrast to isolation exercises (focusing on 1 muscle group at a time), compound movement exercises are far more effective to build muscle fast!
After a day’s workout of high intensity of compound multi-joint movements, muscle recovery is required to allow the muscle to strengthen and adjust to new muscle growth.
At the next session, increase the repetitions at the same weight to build muscle fast!
2) Work it Hard With A Single Set Per Body Part
Single set training are far more beneficial than multiple sets which prevents over-training, but saving energy for other lifts required during a high intensity workout.
To build muscle fast and effectively, you must put in 100% effort for each set till you cannot move the bar after the last rep or exert the same force for another set.
Thereafter, move on to the next exercise and repeat the 100% effort to
work the muscle hard.
Exerting such intensity will stimulate the muscle, and thus build muscle fast.
3) Do Not Overtrain To Build Muscle Fast
As mentioned earlier, blood sugar levels (energy) decrease with time.
Hence, high volume of training will not have any positive outcome. Another adverse affect of over
training is the negative impact of ‘cortisol’ have on the muscle tissue.
The longer the training time, the more cortisol is released into the body’s blood stream which
breakdowns the muscle tissue.
Needless to say, to minimize the effect of cortisol, limit the workout between 20-30 minutes.
Therefore, aim for a short intense workout for maximum effect on the muscle group followed by rest.
4) Vary The Intensity
When strength training to build muscle, the intensity should be varied, not fixed.
In order to build muscle fast, the intensity of workouts must progress upwards. If the intensity
remains the same, there is no reason for new muscle growth.
Hence the muscle groups must be jolted with varied intensity through changes in repetitions and
weights used.
Varied intensity will be build muscle fast and is an effective way to maintain progress and
avoid training plateaus.
5) Do Not Cheat To Build Muscle Fast
Concentrate on the quality of technique used for each set and focus on the movements on the muscle.
To build muscle fast, Why not start with a light load and work the muscles to lift the load.
Once the technique is perfected, increase the load upwards progressively.
Do not kid yourself with reps by shortening the range of motion and swinging the weights up.
With the cheating method, it has limited impact on growth and will not build muscle fast.
6) Drink Plenty Of Water
Water helps to build muscle and transport all the necessary nutrients throughout the body, and
helps to flush out excessive protein. And without the required amount of water, the muscles will not perform adequately.
Not only that, we need water.
As you can see With these 6 simple tips, you do not have to be an athlete to build muscle.

Aromatherapy Grows – Not Just For The Girls Anymore
Aromatherapy, like many other natural treatments, is growing more powerful in Dallas, Houston and throughout Texas. Once thought of as just so many pretty scents, the populace is becoming more aware of how powerful this therapy can be in changing mood, relaxing muscles, even relieving migraines.
Pain relief, decrease in stress, improvement in medical conditions, and better sleep have all been reported, and all show a positive affect on immunity. With better health, you may even get a better deal on that individual health insurance premium. That’s right, boys, chamomile isn’t just for the girls anymore.
While working in a perfumery, the great, early twentieth century French chemist, René Maurice Gattefossé, badly burned his hand. Searching for any available cold liquid, he found a quantity of lavender oil, and in plunged his digits. Astonishingly, the burn healed very quickly, with little or no scarring, and inspired his further research.
Essential oils—naturally occurring, powerfully scented plant substances—are at the heart of aromatherapy. Each plant part often produces unique oils with different properties. For example, orange peel generates what is known as orange oil, while the leaves produce petitgrain, and the blossoms make neroli.
What is even more fascinating is that no one is sure what essential oils are exactly. While certain constituents have been chemically identified, all that is really known is they are volatile, extremely concentrated, oily plant substances with healing properties. They’re not an “oil” in the traditional sense, nor are they anything else we’ve identified in a plant. Ancient Egyptians, Chinese, and Persians integrated them into important rituals, Native Americans throughout what is now Texas and the Southwest were quite familiar with use of concentrated scents, and massage therapists depend on them as a critical part of treatments.
Extracting the essences often require at least several pounds of plant material for every gram obtained. Price of the finished product depends on the amount of labor and raw product required. Eucalyptus oil, for instance, is fairly inexpensive, while rose oil (considered an absolute) is a luxury. Approximately one ton of rose petals are required to manufacture a single ounce of essential oil!
But many species used to produce therapeutic oils are common. Even residents of dry climates like Texas can grow their own bay, eucalyptus, sage, ginger, marjoram, or rosemary plants. For most, buying essential oils is more practical, but those in the congestion of Houston and Dallas can still benefit by growing box gardens in their windows. The herbs, then, can be used for cooking, making small quantities of home products, cleansing the air, and scenting the home.
Very basic knowledge is all that’s needed to start applying the power of essential oils. A few drops on a cotton ball, dropped into a vacuum collection chamber, will fragrance the home while cleaning. A sprinkle on a handkerchief, or in bathwater, can provide much needed stress or sinus relief. Cold and hot compresses are just as easy to make, a multiplicity of home products are only a few minutes away, and, if all else fails, inhaling the aroma from the bottle is a great form of therapy. Finally, something all Americans can do to keep healthy—and without needing individual health insurance to cover it!
Because essential oils are so powerful, direct application to the skin should only be done with certain oils and, of course, pregnant or nursing women, or those who suffer from any chronic conditions (including allergies), should consult a knowledgeable practitioner first. Never ingest them, and use only oils labeled “pure essential oil” from a quality company. Perfume oils and lower-quality products just won’t do the trick.
(1) Stress Relief. Between work, kids, and any glimmer of a credible social life, the “everyday” takes its toll. To relax and relieve tension, use lavender, neroli, chamomile, and vetiver. A back massage with geranium oil is a wonderful remedy for mood swings, and frankincense can restore normal breathing patterns during sensations of panic. Chamomile and marjoram oils are proven remedies for tension headaches, and even some migraines will respond to a few drops of lavender rubbed into the temples and forehead. Rose and lavender oils will send most to dreamland, even with Austin’s traffic in the background. Two or three drops on the pillowcase will do the trick, as will a sachet under the pillow…Of course, the ultimate evening is a warm, essential oil bath and relaxing massage before falling into a rose-scented bed. Ahhh.
(2) Aches and Pains. Most of us experience muscle aches and pains from time to time, and, for those with particularly physically-strenuous jobs, it’s more often. Eucalyptus—easy to grow throughout Texas—chamomile, cypress, and rosemary oils are the top choices for complaining muscles. Ten drops in a warm bath, or used with a therapeutic massage, can be excellent remedies. Clary sage, pine, and jasmine oils are also good choices, and a few drops of ginger oil will improve circulation to the area.
(3) Cuts, Scrapes, and Bites. Even minor cuts, scrapes, rashes, and insect bites can be treated with essential oils, common problems in warm, Southwestern climates like Texas. Tea tree is an excellent anti-fungal, anti-viral and antiseptic topical treatment, great for everything from cuts and scrapes to bee stings. Violet oil soothes rashes and sore, irritated skin, while patchouli and chamomile act as effective anti-inflammatory and antiseptic treatments. Peppermint oil is traditional for insect bites, and lavender shows up, yet again, as a great skin healer.
(4) The Dreaded Flu. We all dread it, we all fight it, but at some point, it always happens: the flu. Not to worry. Heat eucalyptus in a vaporizer, to ease breathing and disinfect the air. A few drops of eucalyptus or cedarwood on the pillow at night will help congestion, as will applying a chest rub, so long as it is properly diluted with a carrier oil, such as almond or jojoba. Myrrh is a great expectorant when used with steam inhalation, and pine oil is an age-old remedy for bronchitis, colds, and congested nasal passages. Apply a few drops of ginger, lavender, or peppermint oil on a cloth and inhale for nausea.
With all the media surrounding the healthcare crisis, it can be easy to forget how everyday, simple measures can really improve our health. But most of us don’t need a comprehensive health insurance plan in order to soak in a hot bath, decongest our sinuses, or prevent minor cuts from turning into infections. Relax! You’ll ease stress, sleep better, and increase immunity. Take care of that sore back with a therapeutic massage, and don’t neglect, of course, to stop and smell the roses.
Instructions for Use:
• For massage, mix 3 drops of oil in 1½ tablespoons of almond or jojoba oil.
• To enjoy a therapeutic bath, sprinkle 6 to 10 drops of oil into warm bath water and soak for at least 15 minutes.
• For steam inhalation treatments, pour boiling water into a large basin and add several drops of essential oil. Cover your head with a towel, lean over, and inhale.

Hip Resurfacing
Hip resurfacing is very near and dear to my heart and hip – left hip to be exact. I am the proud owner of a BHR (Birmingham Hip Resurfacing) that I received in March 2006. My left hip had osteoarthritis for about ten years. My activities during those ten years began to decrease until my main recreation was sitting in my comfy, recliner chair. Having a bone on bone hip joint will bring your life to a complete standstill. Young or old, male or female – bone on bone pain can not be ignored. The pain will be present when you walk, stand, sit and even when you try to sleep. Sleep is impossible without pain killers as is most of your life.
In the past there has been only one solution to replace a painful, arthritic hip, a total hip replacement or THR. A THR meant that part of your femur bone would be cut off and drilled to accept a long stem ball replacement device that is pounded into what is left of your femur bone. Then if you ever need a revision in the future, what is left of your femur bone must be broken apart to remove the old stem. A Hip Resurfacing with a BHR is bone conserving. The top ball of your femur bone is shaped to accept a cap that protects the femur. Then a cup is placed in your acetabulum as a bearing for the cap on your femur. This makes a metal on metal bearing that protects the painful old hip joint. If a revision is ever required in the future, the complete femur bone is still in place to allow a THR.
Hip resurfacing, unlike the old fashioned THR of the past, requires no restrictions to your activities. There is almost no chance of dislocation. Many athletes have had hip resurfacings and returned to the sports they love. If you or someone you know has a painful hip that needs to be replaced, be sure to learn about Hip Resurfacing before accepting an old fashioned THR.
The FDA approved Birmingham Hip Resurfacing in the US last May 2006. Over 60,000 people world wide have BHR’s and many more are learning about the new procedure. Doctors overseas have been performing hip resurfacing for almost fifteen years. Katie Ellis received one of the first BHRs in 1991 from Mr. McMinn, the inventor of the BHR in the UK.
The BHR approved by the FDA in May of 2006 is quite different than the older, hemi-resurfacing of the past. Hemi-resurfacing did not place a cup in the acetabulum of the hip, it only placed a cap on the femur bone and this resulted in a metal on bone joint that often became painful and required a revision.
If you are young and active, be sure to ask your doctor about hip resurfacing. If he/she does not seem to know about the new option, find a doctor in your area that does hip resurfacing. There have been many active people in their late sixties and even seventies that have had hip resurfacing. Be sure to ask questions of your doctor and do research so you don’t end up with an old fashioned small ball THR that will restrict your activities and increase the possibility of a dislocation.
Viagra may Restore Brain Damage due to Liver Failure
Scientists through the ages have been trying to solve the baffling puzzle behind
liver failure leading to brain damage. But a new research using Viagra has come up
with certain revelations that can uncover the whole mystery. Scientists used
laboratory rats to come up with this interesting medical discovery.
The study, involving rats, has shown that Sildenafil in Viagra can help in
understanding the mechanism responsible for learning impairment due to liver failure
and restore the cognitive function of the brain too. Liver disease sometimes causes
hepatic encephalopathy that results in brain damage, personality changes and
intellectual impairment due to hyperammonemia (high levels of ammonia in the blood).
A study at the Laboratory of Neurobiology in The Fundacion Valenciana de Investigaciones
Biomedicas in Valencia, Spain, led by Vicento Felipo postulated that a defect in the
(glutamate- nitric oxide-cGMP) pathway in the brain cause impaired learning. The study
also found that Sildenafil(Viagra) can restore the learning ability.
The research used laboratoty rats with liver disease that are fed on a normal diet with
and without Sildenafil. The rats were given a maze learning test for four weeks from
the day the drug treatment began. The results demostrated that rats with portacaval shunt
had learning impairment, while shunted rats that were given Sildenafil restored their
cognitive power. The tests further displayed that the concentration of cGMP was
lessened in the extracellular fluid in the brains of shunted rats as compared to the
cGMP concentration in rats that were given Sildenafil. Sildenafil restored levels of
cGMP in these animals.
Rats with portacaval anastomosis (shunts) and rats with hyperammonemia without liver
failure show conformity in the functions of the (glutamate-nitric oxide- cGMP) pathway,
extracellular cGMP and learning ability. It is a clear indication that hyperammonemia,
the only common alteration in both models,is responsible for the alteration of the
pathway’s function. It proves that hyperammonemia is responsible for impairment of
learning ability. And Viagra can help you restore the cognitive function.

It’s Not Your Imagination:Tobacco Giants Fight to Keep Smokers Hooked
As anti-smoking education progresses, the tobacco industry fights harder (and dirtier) to ensure their profits are well protected. As they warn of the dangers of smoking, they simultaneously keep you addicted by secretly adding more nicotine to their products. Smoking bans, restrictions, and the reduction in advertising venues continue to create a threat to a hugely lucrative business.
These days, it seems that the message regarding the dangers of smoking is crystal clear. Whether it is on TV, the side of the local bus, or on the internet, advertising has taken a drastic turn from the past days of luring teens to smoke.
With an estimated 70 percent of smokers wanting to quit, and 40 percent who make the attempt annually, some may wonder why it seems more difficult than ever to break the deadly habit.
It Is Not All In Your Mind:
While there is no question that smoking is the most addictive substance, recent reports from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health indicate that the levels of nicotine in cigarettes have been increased between the years 1998 through 2004. The average increase is 10 percent, with brands such as Kool and Doral weighing in at 30 to 36 percent. According to an article in USA TODAY, smokers also affect their own nicotine intake based on how deeply they inhale. This may also affect which part of the lungs develop cancer, with those who take shallow puffs more prone to developing cancer in the upper lungs.
With these increases, the tobacco industry is insuring the odds that you will continue to be a return customer each and every day. It is simply a business decision from their standpoint.
Your recent attempts may have proved unsuccessful, and it may simply be the fact that you are now struggling against an even stronger nicotine addiction.
However, you need not be a victim if you decide that you desire to give up this senseless, expensive, life threatening habit.
As there are always solutions to every problem, recent technological breakthroughs have emerged to conquer this issue. One such innovation is available here in the US brought over from Europe by Rick Tejpaul. It is a process that enables you to naturally withdraw from nicotine without the uncomfortable cravings. Tejpaul states, “We make sure that each one of our clients are taken care of from the moment they make the appointment to when they finally leave smoke-free after a few short treatments.” Along with the actual treatment, your smoking habits and history are analyzed, so that a plan can be customized specifically for you.

Using Healthy Foods for Anti-Aging
One of the best ways to keep the body as young, fit, and healthy in appearance is really quite obvious. No, it is not plastic surgery, either. Through the use of highly nutritious foods, any body can fight the signs of the passing of years and claim their own anti-aging miracle.
To be certain, there are many diets out there that claim to have youth-extending benefits, and most are probably at least based in truth. You see, the anti-aging benefits of dietary staples like oranges, broccoli, and certain berries come from their high content of antioxidants, which are minerals that help keep the walls of the cells nice and pliant, so as to allow the maximum absorption of other essential nutrients and vitamins. When the cells that make up the human body are kept lithe, then the entire body, from the skin to the intestines, is kept in optimum shape, thus creating an anti-aging effect.
There are, of course, many other elements to the anti-aging dietary choices, like yogurts, pumpkins, whole grains and oats, and the ubiquitous soy. Round out the intake with some lean, white meat of turkey and a bit of salmon (well-known to be high in the Omega-3 fatty acids we hear so much about), and consume a handful of nuts, like walnuts, and you have yourself a personalized anti-aging diet.
Most of the anti-aging formulas, lotions, and potions contain some sort of concoction of vitamins and minerals, and this is with good reason. All of these nutritious elements help the body get rid of built up toxins and cleanse away the accumulated waste matter that makes the body act and look older than it really is. In fact, anti-aging can be achieved by simply changing the eating habits and adding some physical activity. In this way, the anti-aging benefits of naturally occurring and carefully prepared foods can be realized by any person who wishes to feel and appear younger and more youthful.
Anti-aging can be achieved quite easily, and it does not have to cost loads of money or time. Change the shopping list to include more items from the fresh produce section and the health food aisle, and anti-aging benefits will pile up in your cart and in your body.
